About me

If I had to choose a “superpower,” I would proudly choose being a foreigner. As an international student in an American graduate school, I’ve trained my brain to learn quickly from people of different cultures. This has helped me understand and empathize with them by nature.

I have spent the last two years of school in multidisciplinary teams with people from all over the world. They came here, to a competitive and educated country that is not their own, to get out of their comfort zone and overcome new challenges. They impress me every single day, and have enabled me to reshape myself.

Previously, I was a project lead for qualitative research and human-centered design in a Mexican design firm. I continued by then focusing my graduate studies around various faculty research projects, and addressing real-world problems with clients across diverse industries. I’ve been multiplying my expert skills by learning a variety of research and synthesis methods. I deal with complex problems by deconstructing tangled situations in structured ways, using design and business frameworks, or my own.

I’m seeking a full-time position that involves both participating in research and creating solutions. But more important, to work at a company that accepts me the way that I am and understands that I may have different perspectives about the world.

As a human-centered designer I believe that the company that I work for should have a human-centered commitment towards working with people from every race, ethnicity, age, gender origin and beliefs.

Cooltural Advantage

NOWHaus is a yearly event created by the Institute of Design students. Speakers (mostly students like myself at that time) get to share crazy interests, quirky observations, secret obsessions, cool and nerdy stuff.

Facts about this video:
1. I love the country where I’m from.
2. I wasn’t planning on presenting and decided at the last minute. Created the presentation in 3 days during a very busy week of the semester.
3. I planned to impress my boyfriend - who thinks NOWHaus is the coolest thing in the world. I kept it in secret until I got up to the stage. He was pretty surprised!
